Just a friendly reminder.... Parents who were approved volunteers last school year DO NOT have to reapply for the 2021-2022 school year. Once our volunteer coordinator puts your name back into our database, you will receive an initial email thanking you for applying as a volunteer at Chicago Public Schools and within 72 hours after receiving the initial email; you will be emailed your volunteer approval letter for the new school year.
NOTE: All parents must pass a background check every year even if they were previously approved . Also, Level 1 volunteers need TB tests every two years. These are the only factors that may affect the immediate approval of a previously approved volunteer.
Parents who submitted a volunteer application last school year, but DID NOT bring a copy of their identification to the main office should do so as soon as possible to complete your application process. (NOTE: You DO NOT have to submit a new application.)
Parents who are submitting applications for the first time must also bring in their identification after they receive a notification email stating that their application has been received. If you have any questions or concerns about becoming a volunteer at Healy School, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Carol Sims at (773) 534-9792.
Please see below for important and NEW information pertaining to the volunteer and/or chaperone process.
